Subsidiary South Africa

Minel Ujantshi – South Africa

For more than six years, Minel Global Engineering has been successfully supplying pantographs for heavy freight and passenger operations across South Africa through our dedicated African subsidiary. What started as a strategic foothold has grown into a dynamic hub of innovation, localized production, talent development, and long-term partnerships.

Our journey on the African continent began with the development of the first pantograph produced for South Africa, installed in 2018 at the Port Elizabeth depot. Today, more than 2,500 Minel pantographs have been delivered across Africa, supporting reliability, efficiency, and long-term performance on some of the continent’s most important routes.

Our South African subsidiary is more than a production site; it is a place where local expertise is nurtured, empowered, and connected with Minel’s global R&D and engineering excellence. By combining the deep technical knowledge of our Serbian headquarters with the strength, resilience, and craftsmanship of our African team, we are able to deliver solutions that perform consistently in some of the most demanding operating environments on the continent.

We are committed to empowering local talent and today employ a growing number of skilled professionals across production, operations, and administration. Our facility operates as a modern, safe, and well-organized working environment, supporting continuous training, skill development, and sustainable careers.

This powerful synergy, global technology and local capability, is what drives our progress. It is also what positions Minel Global Engineering as a trusted and long-term partner in the African railway industry, delivering reliability, innovation, and performance where it matters most.
