Minel Global Engineering conducted a technical training session for its partner Bozankaya, focusing on the ADD (Auto Drop Device) mechanism used in tram pantographs.
The training was led by Željko Stojanović and Zvonko Milovanović, in cooperation with Ahmet Bali and Furkan Aygurtas representing Bozankaya. Participants reviewed the reactivation process of the ADD mechanism, which is a standard feature across our GPN22 and GPN32 tram pantograph series.
All pantographs supplied to Bozankaya, including those for the Belgrade, Naples, and Samsun projects, are equipped with this safety system. The ADD mechanism plays a critical role in protecting both the overhead contact network and vehicle roof equipment. In the event of an impact or obstruction, a precisely engineered safety bolt acts as a controlled failure point, allowing the pantograph to disengage and helping to prevent major damage.
The training was delivered as part of Minel’s ongoing service and maintenance support, reinforcing the long-standing partnership with Bozankaya and the shared commitment to operational safety and technical excellence.
